Secular sermons
I intend to restructure the site, cutting down on link journalism and
making space for my personal observations.
I simply do not have the time and ressources to provide as detailed and
extensive an update service as I would like. Professional engagements
require my time and energy.
One of the new elements will
be secular sermons, interpreting core doctrines of Christianity and
passages from the Bible - from a rational, ethical and philosophical
perspective.
The sermons will not be an expression of faith or follow a particular line of theology. They are neither designed to convert nor polemically subvert any official interpretation of Biblical scriptures.
I will highlight some passages in the Bible to point out areas where the so-called Christian world grossly deviates from their own ideals, and to make the vision of 50mb understandable to a broader audience in a cultural language still spoken by many.
It will be topics uncommon to traditional liturgy and interpretations based on historical and political context, rather than mystagogical or allegorical readings.
I will continue to address our obligation and our interest in a truly
global vision, whether it has to do with ecological sustainability,
scientific development, social reform, conflict reduction or financial
cooperation.
